An important announcement has just been posted on the Thailand Pass website (https://tp.consular.go.th): “Applicants can use their approved Thailand Pass QR Code to enter Thailand on different date of arrival if the new date of arrival is within 7 days before or after the original date of arrival as indicated on the QR Code.”

This starts from Monday 18th April. CAAT and the airlines have already been informed.

You do need to rebook hotels and hotel van transfer plus change the dates on your insurance. But you don't need to upload to the TP website. Just show at check-in and on arrival to health authorities.

Richard Barrow:
" I chatted with a senior official in the consular department just now and he told me there will definitely be another easing of entry restrictions next month but the Thailand Pass will most likely remain. The arrival test will be changed to ATK but you might still need to book a hotel.

This is because of the increasing number of international passengers arriving at Suvarnbhumi airport. It's a logistical nightmare having people wait there for their test results. There just won't be enough room if multiple flights land at the same time.

Hopefully they will be able to work something out. And hopefully if you fly to a smaller airport such as Phuket there won't be a need to book the hotel.

I will update you as soon as I hear any more news."

People should monitor themselves for symptoms, avoid gatherings and work at home after the Songkran festival, the Department of Disease Control (DDC) said on Sunday.
People should take 3 steps to avoid virus wave after Songkran: DDC

The announcement comes amid forecasts of a surge in new Covid-19 infections as people return from their hometowns after Songkran get-togethers. A big rise in the number of virus cases and deaths would threaten Thailand's plan to declare Covid-19 as an endemic by July.

DDC director-general Opas Karnkawinpong said people could be carrying the virus as they travel back across the country after the holiday.

Opas urged people to take three steps after Songkran:

  • Monitor themselves for symptoms for seven days. People who have a fever, sore throat, runny nose or headache should take a rapid antigen test.
  • Avoid gatherings. People who must be in contact with others should wear a face mask.
  • Work at home if this does not affect public services.

At this time, it was important for people to get vaccinated against Covid-19 to build immunity and to make sure they strictly obey measures to contain the spread of the virus, he added.
