29 Bangkok clusters strictly monitored amid 3,226 daily Covid cases

THE Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration's (CCSA's) spokesman Dr. Taweesilp Visanuyothin said today (May 25) that 29 of 33 clusters in Bangkok are now under maximum surveillance with a new one emerging in Dusit district, Amarin TV said.

Meanwhile there were 3,226 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours and 26 additional fatalities that took the death toll to 832.

The new batch of cases raised the cumulative confirmed total to 135,439 with the count in the current wave that started on April 1 being 106,576.

The new cases were divided into two groups, with 2,344 being among the general public and 882 in prisons and detention centres.

Another 3,094 patients were cured taking the total recoveries since the start of the pandemic to 89,194 and in the current wave 61,768. Altogether 45,413 patients are undergoing treatment with 1,187 being in serious condition and 399 requiring ventilators.

Dr Taweesilp said that the new cluster in Dusit district is a construction camp housing 500 people.
