Chonburi announces 334 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19 and one new death

Highlights:

  • 334 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Chonburi today

  • 453 people recovered and were released from medical care

The Chonburi Department of Public Health announced 334 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19 today with one new death, January 27th, 2022.

This makes a total of 15,617 cases of Covid-19 in the current round of infections, with 4,105 people still under medical care/supervision, and with a total of 19 recorded deaths in Chonburi since the start of this recent round of infections at the beginning of this year, January 2022.

Additionally, 453 people were also released and recovered yesterday in Chonburi. 11,493 people in total have now been released from medical care and recovered in Chonburi since this current wave of Covid-19 began at the beginning of this year, January 2022.

The one new death was the age of 59 with personal health problems and pre-existing conditions. The person received a double dose of a Covid-19 vaccine.

Three people were listed as being in serious condition in Chonburi currently, either on a ventilator or pneumoniaAll of them were not vaccinated. According to the Chonburi Department of Public Health, the vast majority of recent cases are mild or asymptomatic.

In total, 1,942,010 people in Pattaya and Chonburi have received their first dose of a Covid -19 vaccine which is 83.38 percent of the total Chonburi population. Of those, 301,134 have received their first dose and are what the Thai government calls 608 groups (elders, have chronic health problems, and pregnant) which is 81.40 percent of those in these risk groups in Chonburi.

The district-level new cases were as follows today:

Mueang Chonburi 68, Si Racha 72, Banglamung (Pattaya) 89, Panat Nikhom 16, Sattahip 40, Ban Bueng 5, Phan Thong 23, ฺBor Thong 2, Ko Chan 1, Nong Yai 1, and 17 people transferred from other provinces for medical care.

The details on the cases are as follows:

  1. Work and stayed in Rayong, transferred from other provinces for medical care, 16 cases
  2. Cluster, Bangkok Jareonmit company in Si Racha, 6 cases
  3. Cluster people back from making merit at temples in other provinces, 19 cases
  4. Risky occupations meeting many people, 16 cases
  5. 6 medical personnel
  6. 6 back from other provinces from Bangkok (2), Nakhon Sawan (1), Samut Prakan (1), Lampang (1) and Sakaeo (1)
  7. Close contacts from previously confirmed cases in families – 78 cases, in workplaces –50 cases, close personal contacts – 22 cases, and joined a party – 1 case
  8. Close contacts of a confirmed patient (under investigation), 10 cases
  9. 120 cases close contacts of a confirmed patient (under investigation)
