Chonburi announces 1,275 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19 and no new deaths

Highlights:

  • 1,275 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Chonburi today

  • 1,270 positive ATK (rapid antigen) tests were reported but all require a second confirmed PCR test before being counted as official cases. The ATK positive tests are just "possible" cases until confirmed by PCR.
  • 811 (PCR) and 709 (ATK) recovered and were released from medical care

  • No new deaths

The Chonburi Department of Public Health announced 1,275 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19 today with no new deaths, February 28th, 2022.

This makes a total of 40,179 cases (PCR) and 27,887 cases (ATK) of Covid-19 in the current round of infections, with 11,724 (PCR) and 11,181 (ATK) people still under medical care/supervision, and with a total of 48 recorded deaths in Chonburi since the start of this recent round of infections at the beginning of this year, January 2022.

Additionally, 811 (PCR) and 709 (ATK) people were also released and recovered yesterday in Chonburi. 28,407 (PCR) and 16,706 (ATK) people in total have now been released from medical care and recovered in Chonburi since this current wave of Covid-19 began at the beginning of this year, January 2022.

In total, 1,982,413 people in Pattaya and Chonburi have received their first dose of a Covid -19 vaccine which is 85.12 percent of the total Chonburi population. Of those, 304,782 have received their first dose and are what the Thai government calls 608 groups (elders, have chronic health problems, and pregnant) which is 82.37 percent of those in these risk groups in Chonburi.

775,995 people have received their triple dose which is 34.18 percent of the total Chonburi population. Of those, 135,761 are 608 groups which is 36.70 percent of those in these risk groups in Chonburi.

The district-level new cases were as follows today:

Mueang Chonburi 306, Si Racha 385, Banglamung (Pattaya) 305, Panat Nikhom 9, Sattahip 45, Ban Bueng 48, Phan Thong 71, ฺBor Thong 11, Ko Chan 3, Nong Yai 9, Ko Si Chang 3, and 89 people transferred from other provinces for medical care.

The details on the cases are as follows:

  1. Work and stayed in Rayong, transferred from other provinces for medical care, 66 cases
  2. Cluster Mitsubishi Electric Consumer Products company in Mueang Chonburi, 3 cases
  3. Risky occupations meeting many people, 35 cases
  4. 20 medical personnel
  5. 11 back from other provinces from Chiang Mai (2), Samut Sakorn (2), Bangkok (1), Krabi (1), Chanthaburi (1), Phuket (1), Songkhla (1), Samut Prakan (1) and Surat Thani (1)
  6. Close contacts from previously confirmed cases in families – 260 cases, in workplaces –213 cases, close personal contacts – 62 cases, and joined a party – 13 case
  7. Close contacts of a confirmed patient (under investigation), 57 cases
  8. 535 cases close contacts of a confirmed patient (under investigation)
