Chonburi hosts "Bangsaen 42 Chonburi Marathon" with more than 9,000 participants this morning under strict Covid-19 rules

Bang Saen, Chonburi –

More than 9,000 runners participated in the "Bangsaen 42 Chonburi Marathon" at Bang Saen beach in Chonburi today, March 20th, organized under the government's "COVID Free Setting" measures.

Bang Saen Mayor Narongchai Khunpluem and MICE & Communication Managing Director Rath Jirotwanichakorn welcomed the participants who were gathering at the starting point in front of the Bangsaen Heritage Hotel at around 2:00 A.M. this morning.

The marathon, organized under the Road Race Elite Label standards according to the rules of the World Athletics Road Race for the first time in Thailand, was about 42.195 kilometers, featuring beautiful scenery of Chonburi's tourist attractions along the way, such as Bang Saen Beach, Leamthaen, Khao Sam Muk, Ang Sila, Chonlamakwithi Bridge, etc.

Moreover, the event had complied with the public health's COVID Free Setting. All runners must be fully vaccinated and present their negative ATK results tested one day before the event. The participants were divided into three groups and released at the different time period to reduce congestion and maintain social distance. And, yes, the runners wore masks.
