Highlights:
1,305 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Chonburi today
- 6,403 positive ATK (rapid antigen) tests were reported but all require a second confirmed PCR test before being counted as official cases. The ATK positive tests are just "possible" cases until confirmed by PCR. TPN notes, however, that second confirmed tests are no longer mandatory except for high-risk groups.
- 1,320 (PCR) and 4,755 (ATK) recovered and were released from medical care
- Four new deaths
The Chonburi Department of Public Health announced 1,305 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19 today with four new deaths, March 26th, 2022.
This makes a total of 70,718 cases (PCR) and 122,371 cases (ATK) of Covid-19 in the current round of infections, with 12,645 (PCR) and 52,657 (ATK) people still under medical care/supervision, and with a total of 129 recorded deaths in Chonburi since the start of this recent round of infections at the beginning of this year, January 2022.
Additionally, 1,320 (PCR) and 4,755(ATK) people were also released and recovered yesterday in Chonburi. 57,944 (PCR) and 69,714 (ATK) people in total have now been released from medical care and recovered in Chonburi since this current wave of Covid-19 began at the beginning of this year, January 2022.
Five people were listed as being in serious condition in Chonburi currently, either on a ventilator or pneumonia. Two of them were vaccinated. According to the Chonburi Department of Public Health, the vast majority of recent cases are mild or asymptomatic at 99.634 percent.
Four new deaths were aged 48, 50, 55, and 71 with severe personal health problems and pre-existing conditions. ฺOne of them was not vaccinated.
In total, 2,033,03 people in Pattaya and Chonburi have received their first dose of a Covid -19 vaccine which is 87.24 percent of the total Chonburi population. Of those, 306,758 have received their first dose and are what the Thai government calls 608 groups (elders, have chronic health problems, and pregnant) which is 82.92 percent of those in these risk groups in Chonburi.
922,267 people have received their triple dose which is 39.60 percent of the total Chonburi population. Of those, 160,228 are 608 groups which is 43.31 percent of those in these risk groups in Chonburi.
The district-level new cases were as follows today:
Mueang Chonburi 198, Si Racha 424, Banglamung (Pattaya) 288, Panat Nikhom 20, Sattahip 110, Ban Bueng 70, Phan Thong 69, ฺBor Thong 3, Ko Chan 14, Nong Yai 7, Ko Si Chang 2, and 100 people transferred from other provinces for medical care.

- Cluster, Thai NOK company in Mueang Chonburi, 10 cases
- Risky occupations meeting many people, 47 cases
- 32 medical personnel
- 6 Back from other provinces in Mahasarakham, Nakhon Nayok, Nakhon Ratchasima, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Prachinburi, and Songkhla
- Close contacts from previously confirmed cases in families – 291 cases, in workplaces –60 cases, close personal contacts – 99 cases, and joined a party – 5 case
- Close contacts of a confirmed patient (under investigation), 41 cases
- 268 cases of close contacts of a confirmed patient (under investigation)
