đčđ Update: Thailand's parliament failed to elect a new prime minister as the sole candidate, Pita Limjaroenrat, fell short of the required majority. Pita, leader of the Move Forward Party, received 324 votes in favor, while 182 were against, and 199 abstained. A second round of voting is scheduled for July 19.
The Move Forward Party emerged as the largest party in the lower house after the general election. Pita's coalition will decide whether to back him again or nominate another candidate.
